Cabinet War Rooms and Churchill Museum
Shortly after becoming Prime Minister in May 1940,
Winston Churchill visited the Cabinet War Rooms to see
for himself what preparations had been made to allow
him and his War Cabinet to continue working throughout
the expected air raids on London. It was there, in
the underground Cabinet Room, he announced 'This
is the room from which I will direct the war'.
Clock Museum
The clock museum is situated within the Guildhall
Library building (Aldermanbury, London EC2) and is
open Monday to Saturday 9.30am - 4.45pm.
The collection was begun in 1814 and is the oldest
collection specifically of watches and clocks in
the world. It represents the fruits of years of research,
planning, conservation and acquisitions by the
Clockmakers' Company.

The Charles Dickens Museum in London is the world's
most important collection of material relating to the
great Victorian novelist and social commentator. The only
surviving London home of Dickens (from 1837 until 1839)

Freud Museum
The Freud Museum, at 20 Maresfield Gardens in Hampstead,
was the home of Sigmund Freud and his family when they
escaped Nazi annexation of Austria in 1938. It remained
the family home until Anna Freud, the youngest daughter,
died in 1982. The centrepiece of the museum is Freud's
library and study, preserved just as it was during his lifetime.
HMS Belfast
A cruiser, moored on the River Thames. She served
throughout the Second World War, playing a leading
part in the destruction of Scharnhorst, and the Normandy Landings

Museum of Childhood
The Museum of Childhood is home to one of the

Theatre Museum
The Theatre Museum is the National Museum of
the Performing Arts. Situated in the heart of
London's theatreland, it houses the world's
leading collection of material relating to the
British stage. All the live performing arts
are represented, including drama, dance, opera,
musical theatre, circus, puppetry, music hall and live art.
The Jewish Museum
Include special exhibitions that focus on particular
aspects of jewish life around the world, lectures,
concerts, book signings and readings, and film showings.

The London Canal Museum

Tower Bridge Experience
At the Tower Bridge Exhibition you can enjoy
breath-taking views from the high-level Walkways

Tower of London Royal Armouries
HM Tower of London, one of the most famous
buildings in the world, was constructed
following the Norman conquest in the
11th century to dominate London. The Royal
Armouries is responsible for all the displays
in the White Tower, the central keep of the
castle complex, and for researching and
recording the history of the Tower and the
many institutions which have grown up there.
Our displays contain many of the examples of
royal arms and armour in the Royal Armouries
collection, including armours of Henry VIII,
Charles I, Charles II and James II. They also
reconstruct many of the historical displays
of arms and armour for which the Tower is
famous, including the Grand Storehouse
which was destroyed by fire in 1841.

Aberdeen Maritime Museum

Beaulieu Motor Museum
THE NATIONAL MOTOR MUSEUM
Few car museums in the world can match the
unique collection of the world renowned National
Motor Museum at Beaulieu. Managed by the National
Motor Museum Trust, Beaulieu is also the home of
the world famous Beaulieu International Autojumble and Automart.
The Collection now comprising some 250 vehicles - from
some of the earliest examples of motoring to legendary
World Record Breakers like Bluebird and Golden Arrow -

Formerly the 14th century Great Gatehouse
of Beaulieu Abbey, Palace House is set in

Beaulieu Abbey was founded in 1204 by
Cistercian monks on land given to them by
King John. Although much was destroyed at

Electric tramcars and trolleybuses transport
visitors back in time from the modern exhibition
halls to the canal-side village, where costumed
demonstrators and working craftsmen bring the

Bletchley Park National Codes Centre
During World War II the German armed forces'
top secret codes were broken at Bletchley Park,
providing the Allies with vital information towards
their war effort. Situated 50 miles North-West of London,
Bletchley played host to a diverse group of code
breakers. Among the ciphers that were broken were
Enigma and Lorenz.
Bradford Industrial Museum
Bradford’s Industrial Museum has permanent displays
of textile machinery, steam power, engineering and
motor vehicles, along with an exciting exhibitions
programme. You can enjoy the splendour of the Mill
Owner’s House, or visit the more humble Mill-workers’
terraces. Moorside Mills is also home to the
museum’s team of working horses.
Bracken Hall Countryside Centre and Museum
The Centre has displays relating to the natural history,
geology, archaeology and local history of the area. The
colourful interactive wildlife exhibits delve into the lives
of badgers, frogs and bats, and tanks contain a variety
of local water creatures and mini-beasts. There are
interactive displays about other animals and foodwebs.

Each vehicle is displayed in its individual
film set, with atmospheric lighting and sound
playing a part. Houses and mountains were
constructed, muddy battlefields and bomb sites

fantasy world of television and film.
Cliffe Castle Museum
The house is now a large museum with a wide variety
of displays. These include an array of glittering
minerals, local rocks and fossils (including a 2m
long fossil newt!), mounted birds and animals,
original furnished rooms with chandeliers, William
Morris stained glass, old dolls, toys and
domestic items and a programme of temporary exhibitions.
Conservation Centre Liverpool
The Conservation Centre is a unique venue where
you can find out how we care for our collections.
Everything from Roman sculptures to Cold War spacesuits
come here to be preserved and restored. You can learn
all about the conservators' arts through fascinating

Coors Visitor Centre houses the UK's premier

Manchester Museum
The Manchester Museum collections number almost 6 million
specimens and objects. These collections are divided between
the Humanities
(Anthropology, Archaeology, Archery, Egyptology and Numismatics)
and the Natural Sciences
(Botany, Mineralogy, Palaeontology, Petrology and Zoology,
which includes Entomology). Like most museums we are only
able to display a tiny percentage of our collection, the
remainder is kept in store for use in research, temporary

The Mary Rose is based in the city of Portsmouth,
in the county of Hampshire on the south coast of England.
The Mary Rose is one of three historic ships based in
Portsmouth and further visitor information, including

Merseyside Maritime Museum

The Museum of the History of Science houses

Science Museum Wroughton
We run free tours of the museum with various themes
on the first and third Wednesday of each month from
10.30 to 12.30. Your guide will be a member of site
staff with a unique insight into the work of the
Museum store. These tours must be booked in advance.
Groups of 15 or more can book guided tours at other
times, subject to staff availability. The cost for

It is home to twenty vehicles, mainly of local origin,

The Jewry Wall
Leicester's Museum of Archaeology is placed
in the wonderful setting of the remains of the
Roman town's public baths. The Jewry Wall is
one of Leicester's most famous landmarks. It
is a rare example of Roman walling which has
survived for nearly 2000 years
