West Sussex is a diverse county with Crawley in the north acting as the base for staffing of Gatwick airport and also a major commuting area for getting into London for work, on the south coast the towns based on tourism include Bognor Regis, Arundel, Selsey and Middleton on sea, but between those very defined areas are the small towns and villages on the South Downs which is mostly protected countryside.
Chichester is a city and has it's own 12th century cathedral, The Chichester Cross which stands at the centre of the city an dates back to circa 1500,
Fishbourne Roman Palace built in the 1st century AD has a museum which includes many of the Mosaics found during the 1960's excavations.
The town of Arundel is the home to the restored medieval Arundel Castle which dominates the landscape due to it's placement at the top of the hill, Arundel is well known for it's antiques stores of which there are many selling anything from furniture to nick knacks
